There is 34 million deaf children around the world the majority of them live in developing countries. The lack of communication between deaf children and the rest of their society leads to their suffering and frustration and in many places preventing them from having decent and equal education opportunities. Children with hearing impairment are often misunderstood and experience judgment towards them, leading to the feelings of abandons and loneliness. Sign Heroes is a board game that the deaf child can use to teach a hearing person Sign language in a fun and easy way. In this way the game is a common ground to communicate. Another aim of the game is to create empathy and using game design to overcome communication challenges in an effective way whilst making learning Sign Language easy, fun and cheap and to open up a whole world to both deaf and hearing children alike . Sign heroes is a game that was developed by the help of Deaf people to help deaf children.
